North Central Texas Trauma Regional Advisory Council

During Fall Quarter 2017, we noticed that there were four people from the greater Dallas / Fort Worth area enrolled in the online version of the SAIL Program Leader training.  We learned that an evidence-based fall prevention program called “A Matter of Balance” had been disseminated in this region, but people were wondering how they could encourage older adults to continue with an exercise program after completing A Matter of Balance.

Foundation for Senior Living (FSL)

In 2016, Tom Egan, President and CEO of the Foundation for Senior Living (FSL) applied for and was awarded a grant from the State of Arizona Office of the Attorney General.  The grant enabled key personnel to implement the SAIL Program in Adult Day Health Services in Phoenix, Tempe, and Glendale, Arizona.

Quality Matters

The SAIL online training that is offered through Pierce College recently underwent a continuous improvement process for assuring the quality of online courses through a faculty review process.  An extensive internal review was conducted by a team of three Quality Matters certified Peer Reviewers, including a Master Reviewer, for the 21 Essential Quality Matters Standards.
