Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) – Minneapolis
We have had numerous people from Minnesota in the online SAIL Program Leader training in the last few years, and three of our Certified Trainers for SAIL Program Leaders live in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. It was definitely time for us to make a site visit to Minnesota and see what was happening. We contacted our friends from RSVP (the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) in Minneapolis. RSVP is a Senior Corps program from the Corporation of National and Community Service that engages adults 55+ to meet community needs.

We were recently contacted by Jenn Gorman, Director of Wellness & Fitness for the Fort Defiance Indian Health Board, Inc. (FDIHB) to conduct an onsite SAIL Program Leader training in Arizona.
FDIHB is one of six service units in the Navajo Indian health care system that serves 45,000 people in a geographic region that is 2,000+ square miles. FDIHB has received frequent requests for teaching exercise classes and providing education. Jenn noticed that the wellness staff often provided this type of service for 8 weeks,
Top of Alabama Regional Council of Governments
We received a phone call from René Breland in August 2018. René is the Director of Aging Programs for the Top of Alabama Regional Council of Governments (TARCOG). She had just visited a SAIL fitness class in Huntsville, AL and wanted to know if it would be possible to expand the number of SAIL Programs in northern Alabama.
Carolyn Rhodes is the Fitness Director and a Certified Personal Trainer for the Huntsville-Madison County Senior Center.
North Central Texas Trauma Regional Advisory Council
During Fall Quarter 2017, we noticed that there were four people from the greater Dallas / Fort Worth area enrolled in the online version of the SAIL Program Leader training. We learned that an evidence-based fall prevention program called “A Matter of Balance” had been disseminated in this region, but people were wondering how they could encourage older adults to continue with an exercise program after completing A Matter of Balance.
Lynn Kubic was one of those who completed the online version of the SAIL training.
