Offering SAIL During the COVID – 19 Pandemic
We have received requests for guidance on offering the SAIL fitness class during this time of social distancing. Here are our recommendations:
- Pause the SAIL Program for new participants
- Virtual delivery (such as Facebook Live and Zoom) is allowable for participants who are familiar with the SAIL fitness class
- Online training for persons interested in learning more about the SAIL Program, or for persons who are interested in leading a SAIL Program continues to be available through Pierce College.
Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) – Minneapolis

It was definitely time for us to make a site visit to Minnesota and see what was happening. We contacted our friends from RSVP (the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) in Minneapolis. RSVP is a Senior Corps program from the Corporation of National and Community Service that engages adults 55+ to meet community needs.

She had just visited a SAIL fitness class in Huntsville, AL and wanted to know if it would be possible to expand the number of SAIL Programs in northern Alabama.
Carolyn Rhodes is the Fitness Director and a Certified Personal Trainer for the Huntsville-Madison County Senior Center.
